My story has held trials and triumphs, and it has not always been pretty. But it has been real. These moments have helped to create who I am today as I let God mold me into who I will be in the future. They have taught me that strength isn’t about being strong, its about being obedient. That being in control doesn’t give me power but rather takes the power away from the one who deserves it. This is my journey. It is a safe place to be vulnerable with the very things that are all to often considered taboo. A place where struggling doesn’t equate to failure.
“I believe, but help me in my unbelief”
Over the past few months, these 8 words taken from the song “I Believe” by Valley Creek Worship have become my motto. The truth is, this is my reality. I believe, I truly do believe. I believe that God is good. I believe that I am forgiven. I believe that I am a Child of God. I believe that I am loved. BUT….that one word that completely redirects a sentence, I struggle to believe it all the time. I question if I can trust God’s goodness or if his love is truly unconditional. I find myself wanting to believe truth while being stuck on a never ending merry-go-round of lies. I get so caught up in the logistics of everything that I lose sight of the truth. The truth is that God already knew that I would always understand. He knew i would struggle at times. He knew all of that and still gave me GRACE! James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Thank you Jesus for loving me even in my unbelief.
